Head IT, SMBC Aviation
Lavinia is Head of IT for SMBC Aviation Capital, one of the largest aircraft leasing companies in the world. Lavinia, who is part of the overall Management Group of the organisation is responsible for delivery of the company’s IT Strategy as well as delivery of major Business Change programmes. Most recently Lavinia has successfully led a large business transformation programme responsible for the re-engineering of the organisation’s front to back office processes and systems and putting the necessary people and technology in place to achieve this. Prior to joining SMBC AC in 2014, Lavinia was Head of IT Operations for the Life Assurance Company Friends First.
With a background in Electronic Engineering, Lavinia has worked in the IT sector for over 20 years and has a breath of experience working in a number of sectors including Financial Services, Government, Professional Services and Power engineering. Lavinia is also a regular commentator in the area of Cloud Computing. For many years she chaired the Irish Internet Associations Working Group for Cloud Computing. She has been a member of the ISO National Mirror Committee (Ireland) with responsibility for standards setting in the area of Cloud Computing and was involved in the development of a national standard for Cloud procurement in conjunction with the NSAI.
