Sinisha Patkovic

Sinisha Patkovic is a Senior Executive at BlackBerry who is dedicated to working closely with Government and Fortune 500 organisation Leaders, Boards and IT Executives on Cyber Governance and Business Transformation strategies advising on smarter approaches to processes for faster and better delivery of services.  Sinisha joined Blackberry in 2005, where he had overall responsibility for driving the business with Verizon Wireless across the U.S, with a particular focus on building and maintaining close relationships with Federal Government Executives in Washington, DC.  In 2008 he accepted the opportunity to develop a Cybersecurity team based in Europe.

Under his leadership, the team provided advisory service on cybersecurity strategies and addressed challenges and concerns related to product security acceptance for classified use.  From 2009 to 2012 he participated in numerous private and industry consultations with security agencies in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia, related to data surveillance, crypto regulations, and privacy of consumer and enterprise products.  Sinisha was a primary contributor in developing the strategies that delivered new solutions for classified communication to NATO and the German Government (the “Merkel phone).” Prior to Blackberry, Sinisha was with Economical Insurance, where he provided technical expertise in high-value programs that modernised IT architecture into distributed, scalable, and cost-effective service for agile IT practice.  Before the insurance organisation, Sinisha was at IBM Canada as Systems Analyst, where he managed technology needs of IBM’s Canada sales and the Call Center.

Sinisha’s early career was at the European Commission, and UN Mine Action Centre where he took a central support role in building a minefield database and GIS maps for humanitarian and de-mining efforts. Sinisha serves on the board of EEMA, a leading European think-tank for digital identity and trust. He has deep-sector knowledge of enterprise security and IT, as well as mobile and IoT technologies. Sinisha is CISSP-ISSAP certified, and he holds a Master in IT Governance at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics.
