Noord Group is launching the Data & Analytics Dialogue, taking place in London on Thursday 26th April 2018.

The Data & Analytics Dialogue is a senior level, invitation-only meeting that will bring together 60 CDOs, Heads of Data, Insight and Analytics to discuss common challenges and help strengthen their strategic roadmap.

The 1-day program is solution driven and designed to offer practical insights for data and analytics leaders to be able to drive forward their organisation’s business objectives through presentations, case studies, onstage interviews, panel discussions and workshops with industry experts.

Themes for this Dialogue include: setting up the data function and the role of the CDO; identifying, acquiring and developing the right skills for a successful data team; leveraging data & analytics for better decision making and driving revenue.

Why now

Data and analytics work is becoming more and more widespread – Gartner predicted that 2017 will be the year data and analytics goes mainstream. Looking ahead, we see the role of Chief Data Officer emerge and develop further with 90% of large organisations predicted to have someone in this role by 2019. With this comes the challenge of defining and establishing the role – many Chief Data Officers are the first of their kind within their organisations. Since the role is still emerging, a large portion of their projects are likely to fail and there is an element of trial and improvement as the role grows and new methods are developed.

This change marks a cultural shift in the way data is being viewed – a move from a centralised data function to one were data becomes a part of everyone’s responsibility. However, it is not to be viewed as a new revenue stream but a way to reinforce current business models. For this, a Chief Data Officer needs to understand technology as an enabler for doing their work from an analytics perspective, since data without analytics is useless.

There is a strong desire on the board to become data driven. This is reflected in the International Data Corporations prediction that worldwide revenues for big data and business analytics will grow from $130.1 billion in 2016 to more than $203 billion in 2020. Despite this, many organisations don’t know where to start.

Benefits of attending
